Well, I never put much effort into the old site, in part because I’m not at all a blogger (its kind of vane) and it was just a repository for a few notes I’d made that I wanted to be publicly accessible.
I can’t at all say the new site will have any more content, but I have written a few interesting facebook posts in recent years that were blog-ish and people might find interesting. I’ll put those up here.
So why the new site then? I hosted my old site from my own server in my house. Why not? Well, it made sense at the time after all as I mention above I don’t really need much of a site, so why pay for hosting (tight git). Well…turns out I have a little project now and I really need proper hosting for that, so I might as well move this site to something that is easier to maintain. The other reason is that since I changed the router in my house, it’s simply been less compatible with the idea of serving web pages to the world at large – the old site has been down for some time, not that anyone missed it.
Oh well, one could argue that without a server running from the home anymore, the internet connection from my house is more secure and there’s more bandwidth for playing games.
